CANCELLED – Earth Festival: Spring Equinox | Midday Meditation
March 20 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm£2.30 – £5.10
It is with regret Chalice Well Trust has decided to cancel our Spring Equinox celebration. With the current situation regarding the coronavirus we feel it sensible given the numbers of people who come and join us for the midday meditation.
The gardens will be open as usual, 10 am to 4:30 pm (last entry 4 pm), but normal admission fees will apply and there will be no gathering at the well head, no fire on the lower lawn and no refreshments.
We will also be cancelling our other events up to and including Easter. The events effected are Foot Washing on 9 April and our Day of Silence scheduled for 10 April.
The sun rises due east and sets due west, there is equal day and equal night. The earth greens, the sap rises and the leaves burst their buds in verdant response. This is a time of awakening, experiencing life with youthful vigour and childish delight.
FREE ADMISSION to the gardens between 10 am & 12 pm
Standard admission from 12 pm | Companions FREE
Refreshments on sale between 10 am and 1:30 pm
We gather at the Well Head at 12 pm for meditation until 12:30.
At 12:30 we invite you to join us around the fire on the Lower Lawn for informal ’conversation’. We hope this will be an opportunity for people to share ideas, thoughts and beliefs, and a chance to increase connection through understanding.
Please feel free to join us for all or any part of the celebration.
Chalice Well is a World Peace Garden. A place of peace and tranquillity for those of all faiths and none. These festivals are grounded in common principles; welcome, stillness, silence, reflection, grace, communion, community, relationship, celebration, gratitude and blessing. That people gather together, not in a formalised building or structure of worship, but in a beautiful garden, allows a shared acknowledgement of the sacred and divine that transcends borders and differences.
